The Museum of Contemporary Art Detroit (MOCAD) lists its upcoming events, including:

Strange and Beautiful Music III:
Saturday, September 19th from 2PM to 1AM

The third installment of New Music Detroit’s annual festival will feature the best in contemporary chamber, avant-garde classical and experimental music of all forms from Detroit and around the country.

Family Day:
Sunday, September 20, 2009 from 12PM to 4PM

A workshop for kids and parents that will allow them to create small “pop-up” books that will explore the idea of imaginary spaces and environments in a fun, hands-on way. All materials for the workshop will be provided free of charge.

Other events include DJ dance parties at the Whitney, free art film screenings and discussions, and artist performances.
