“Conversations on Race” is a racial dialogue forum New Detroit has worked in collaboration with the University of Michigan-Dearborn for the past several years to engage college students in discussions related to race relations. To date, more than 1000 students have participated. The University has invited world renowned speakers such as Gwen Ifill, Managing Editor of "Washington Week," famed authors Tim Wise, Kevin Powell and many others as guest speakers for these forums. After each lecture, students, faculty, and community members have an opportunity to participate in a cross cultural, no-holds-barred, small group dialogue to talk about race.
